Dr. Frederick M. Prostredny, DVM, MS, CCRT, Diplomate ACVS

Dr. Prostredny founded Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists (CVSS) as he gone to live in Annapolis in 1992. In 1993 he was became a member of by his wife, Dr. Evans. These were a few of the first board licensed small animal surgical specialists within the condition of Maryland. In 1993, Drs. Prostredny and Evans started the development from the Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC) with multiple niche referral practices and emergency care.

Dr. Prostredny acquired his Bs in Agriculture degree in the College of Georgia and graduated Magna Cum Laude in the School of Veterinary Medicine later. He completed a 1-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery in 1988 in the College of Georgia. Dr. Prostredny ongoing his surgical training at Purdue in 1988 and completed the residency program and acquired his masters degree in 1991. Dr. Prostredny grew to become a Diplomate from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) after passing the validating examination in 1992.

Dr. Prostredny is been trained in advanced memory foam, soft tissue, and neurosurgery. He's licensed to do advanced cranial cruciate ligament repair (TPLO and TTA), stylish alternative, elbow alternative, and sliding humeral osteotomies for elbow dysplasia. He's also been trained in arthroscopy. Dr. Prostredny has extensive experience of stylish substitutes with more than 20 experience and learning both BioMedtrix and Helica systems. In '09, together with Dr. Weeren, he backed an exercise session for other surgeons wondering to do Helica stylish substitutes. He was the very first veterinary surgeon to do TPLO's in Maryland. He's since carried out several 1000 TPLO methods.

Dr. Prostredny is part of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS), the Veterinary Memory foam Society (VOS), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) and also the Anne Arundel Veterinary Medical Association (AAVMA). He's lectured and trained numerous labs at ACVS, but for the MVMA he's lectured at VOS, AAVMA, and various local dog clubs. This Year, Dr. Prostredny completed the validating needs for that Canine Rehab Institute and it is now a licensed canine rehab counselor (CCRT). He's located in our Annapolis office.

Dr. Prostredny likes music of all types, rock climbing, skiing, and diving. He's an enthusiastic reptile fan as well as likes traveling whenever you can together with his wife and 2 kids.

Dr. Krista L. Evans, DVM, CCRT, Diplomate ACVS

Dr. Evans was raised in your area around the Eastern Shoreline in Salisbury, Maryland. Her curiosity about veterinary medicine started in senior high school as she labored being an assistant for any local veterinary hospital.
